GERMAN DESK

Since 1996 Vinge´s German Desk has been serving as a bridge for Swedish clients with business interests in Germany and vice versa for German clients doing business in Sweden. Today the team consists of experienced German attorneys (Rechtsanwälte) as well as a number of Swedish lawyers from all of Vinge´s main practice areas and all of our Swedish offices. They speak German or have worked or studied in Germany or possess extensive experience in German projects, the German honorary consul in Gothenburg, Vinge partner Fredrik Vinge, being one of them.

Members of Vinge´s German Desk advise German and Swedish clients with regard to, among other things:

  • Mergers & acquisitions (both share sales and asset sales);
  • Establishment of subsidiaries or branches and other general corporate matters;
  • Joint Ventures;
  • Corporate restructurings and insolvency;
  • Financing solutions;
  • Employment;
  • IT- and telecom-related matters;
  • Intellectual property;
  • Tax;
  • Commercial real estate;
  • Competition issues;
  • Transport, logistics and maritime law;
  • Dispute resolution; and
  • Commercial agreements such as licensing, supply, services agreements, etc.

    As Sweden is an important economic and financial hub in Northern Europe, we also assist those of our German clients who have business interests in other Scandinavian countries, Finland or the Baltic States by co-ordinating legal advice provided through Vinge´s networks in those countries.

    Another key function of Vinge´s German Desk is to facilitate communication with specialist local counsel and co-ordinate projects for our Swedish clients seeking expert legal advice in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

    Vinge’s German Desk, provides legal advice but also serves as a cultural bridge between the respective countries, with this assistance being based on more than ten years of professional work and experience in working with both Swedish and German clients.
