A well-functioning exchange of know-how within the firm is one of the keys to our success.
In order to maximise the knowledge management resources, Vinge has created a new profession for lawyers within the knowledge management field, the KM lawyer. The KM lawyer’s role involves creating opportunities for knowledge management work, both with respect to information structure and the communication of knowledge management in the firm.
The KM lawyer’s tasks involve identifying the other lawyers’ need for documentation and information, taking advantage of and distributing both internal and external information and knowledge as well as developing the KM database and other forms of IT support.
The KM lawyers work closely with the firm’s specialist practice groups in order to identify the need for changes and more efficient methods and to safeguard experience from, e.g. project evaluations.
The KM lawyers are also responsible for finding new knowledge management tools and methods of working and for the continuous development of the firm’s KM work. To become a KM lawyer you must have good legal knowledge and several years’ experience from legal work at a commercial law firm as well as good project managerial skills, a high degree of independence and initiative.
In addition to the KM lawyers, there are also positions as KM associates at Vinge. As a KM associate you will have the opportunity to get an introduction into the KM work and to work as a lawyer in the KM group without having the qualifications required for a KM lawyer.
