Vinge awarded for its gender diversity initiatives

For the fourth time, Vinge has won the award, European Women in Business Law – Sweden 2016. Vinge won the award for its gender diversity initiatives in the legal profession. Last year, Vinge was the first Swedish law firm to set the goal of having women represent 50 per cent of all newly appointed partners within the next five years.

Vinge won the award in 2011, 2014, 2015 and now in 2016. European Women in Business Law Awards are awarded for the sixth year and are arranged by Euromoney Legal Media Group and International Financial Law Review. The awards are given to the best firms and individual practitioners based on surveys and nominations.

“We have been actively working on gender diversity for many years and even now the percentage of new female partners here is at the level of 30-40 per cent. However, we do not think that this is enough and we want to force the pace of change in order to be an ever more gender diverse firm. Accordingly, we set the goal that the percentage of newly appointed partners shall be 50 per cent women over a five year period. We are incredibly proud that we have received this award several years in a row, it shows that our efforts are recognized”, says Maria–Pia Hope, CEO Vinge. 

Vinge partners Anna Edström, Anna Palmérus, Emma Stuart-Beck and Louise Brorsson Salomon were in London on 16 June 2016 to receive the award. Vinge was also the only Swedish firm to be nominated in the category “Best gender diversity initiative by national firm” and Vinge partner Eva Fredrikson in the individual category "Best in technology, media and telecommunications".
